"Ask Oprah And Ye Shall Receive"

Hello. I am the grandmother of a beautiful, bright, six year old angel. I have been raising her since the age of three months. I lost my job two years ago and have had a very hard time finding another. I have worked for the past thirty five years. I am not afraid to work, no-one will hire me. I hope this will change as I graduate with my degree in Business in July of this year. I have worked really hard and even made the Dean's list! I want my granddaughter to see what a difference an education can make in your life. My problem at the moment is that when I lost my job, I lost my rental home a few months later. Reese (my granddaughter) and I have been living with different relatives on and off since then. I am currently with my sister and her family, but am afraid I have worn out our welcome. There is a lot of tension right now and resentment and I just want to take my baby to our own place where we will not feel like a burden. I have been paying on what little I own (crammed into a small storage unit) and we miss our things. All of my mother's belongings that I recieved after her death five years ago are in it. I know there is a better future for us because I will have a better job with this degree. I have worked food service all of my life so I have only ever made minimum wage. If I could just get a boost from someone so that we could get into our own place, I would pay back every penny. I am an honest person that is trying to better myself, as most people are. If you can help my grandaughter and I, we would be so grateful. I really do not want much. A little rental shack that can be fixed up would be fine. I am not afraid of hard work and would be willing to clean and paint it myself. Thanks for reading this and if you can help me, I will pay back, plus pay it forward.

Hello everyone,
I haven't been on in awhile, I have been busy with school...mine and my grand-daughters. I thought I would see if anyone could help me with a problem. I am trying to get my son home from Kentucky into a rehab that I have already set up for him. I cannot come up with the money to get him home. If anyone can help me at all, or wants to know any more details, call me at 1-864-461-9058. I know that we are all hurting financially right now, but you never know where you can get help unless you ask. I know this sounds a little overboard, but to those of you that know how I have requested Prayer for my son's addiction to drugs, he was sent to jail on a misdemeanor, and when he came out, already de-toxed, he made the decision to come home and reclaim his life. I am trying to get him home but I am still unemployed. Anyone that will, please Pray for my family. I would be forever greatful.

Hello Aidpage family. It's been awhile since I visited, but as I am now homeless, I rarley have access to a computer. I am at my sister's house for a few days. My grandaughter is sleeping on her couch and I am on the floor. However, I know I am blessed to have a floor! I went yesterday to DSS and applied for welfare. My unemployment ran out two months ago, and they told me that the 127.00 per month that I recieve for my granddaughter , and the 300.00 per month in food stamps was ALL I was eligible to recieve. This does not sound right! I have worked since I was 14 years old, and raised three sons by myself with no public assistance at all! Now I need help and I can not get it. I am angry to say the least. I really do not know what direction to go in. I need a job so badly, but have been told over and over that a younger person would be more suited for it. I do not know what to do. I would welcome any suggestions or help that anyone could give me. I am even willing to work for a roof over my head. God bless you all and I hope this never happens to anyone else.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to ...   I do not know if you will see this, but I do not get comfort from you or me or anyone leaving this sight. I do not fight for anything except my Saviour. I do not mean to anger anyone because that is not productive at all. I am bound by my faith to speak up for Him.No, I am not glad you are leaving. We are all brothers and sisters, and just like any brothers and sisters, we are going to disagree on life in general, be it politics, money, or religion. I am speaking for myself as well when I say we all need to learn to disagree in a respectful manner.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   First of all, I have worked since I was 14 and raised three boys by myself. Now I am raising a grand-daughter. You do not know me or anything about me. In college, you are known as a "Troll". I am sure you know the meaning of this, but for all the others here, it means he trolls forums looking for arguement. Trolls do this to make themselves feel important. So sir, you are the pathetic one and I feel sorry for you. If your life is so full, why aren't you spending time with that wonderful wife and kids instead of looking to tear what confidence someone may have left, apart? As far as job apps, four a week, every week mister. I will leave religion out of this one. Let's say we are nuetral person to person. Re-read your post to me. It was the most despicable thing I have ever read. You are channeling some kind of frustration out on these people here and myself. It is not welcome and it is not hurting anyone but yourself. You mentioned in earlier post about certain religion judging others and acting almighty. What about you ? You paint a perfect picture of yourself but in truth if you were that happy in life, you would not be harassing innocent people looking for at least a kind word. Still, if you asked me for something, if I have it I would give it to you. That is what DECENT human beings do.

CHRISTIANS AND NON-CHRISTIANS PLEASE READ

in response to bookworm2011...   I understand completely. I can not imagine what you must have went through as a child and I truly apologize in the name of Christianity. This particular religion is easy for Satan to use as a hiding place and I do know it happens. I do not try to push Christianity on anyone, and I don't mean to when I tell someone I'll pray for them, it's just what I do. I know that Prayer is not enough in a lot of situations, hence the reason I joined this site. I know that God helps those that help themselves. I believe He gave us the ability to ask for help if we can not do it alone. I am sorry for the "religious ranting" I have been posting, and will try to ignore the root of the problem in the future. I wish you well, and thank you for your response.

CHRISTIANS AND NON-CHRISTIANS PLEASE READ

I am truly sorry for what you went through as a child, and can clearly see why you view the majority of Christians as you do. I do want to add that not all Christians are people hiding behind their religion. I take it you are a Christian, then you know that people take the religion for what it is and not use it as a tool. I do not think I am better than anyone, but I know I am a Christian, and as one, I am bound to witnessing for God. A lot of people mistake witnessing for judgement. I am not passing judgement on anyone . That is God's job. But,my job is to speak out and witness for Him when it is necessary. I know that you are probably referring to the sparring that has been going on between several people and one man here at this forum. I have not judged him, but counter attacked his rudeness. I can not stand to read blasphemy against God. Just say that he was an advocate of the government at the moment. If I posted insulting comments about the President, and how he is running this country, don't you think this man would speak up? I know that you did not mean any harm in your post, but for the record I am a Christian by choice, not upbringing, I am not a criminal, I have nothing to hide. I just believe in God. I know that prayer is not going to fix everything, but I do not have a family member to help me as you help your daughter. Prayer is all I have. It's all a lot of us have. If I didn't have that to hold on to, I truly would have nothing. Again, I am not judging anyone, I am just defending God as the Bible instructs me to do. I do hope that you do not generalize all Christians with your experiences in the past. I know you are speakng the truth about the bad people that hide behind Christianity, but we are not all like that. If I had two dollars, then someone on this page would have one. Not because I will get rewarded, but because that would be the right thing to do.

What's on your heart and mind today?

I have read so amny posts that people have submitted that just tears my heart out. There have been requests for utility bill help, housing, car, and even dental help. It saddens me to know that the United States does not have the resources to help it's own struggling citizens, but hands out billions of dollars to non-citizens. The bail-outs are outrageous. A lot of the companies that the government is bailing out, was created by the government to help the economy! There are people in this country (including myself) that are without the basics. The government s frivolous spending (prostitutes, even) should not be stood for. I have worked and payed taxes since I was 14, and now find myself unemployed. Where is my bail-out? Where is your bail-out? I just do not understand how our government can do this and allow it to happen to the very people that pay and have paid for all of thier waste.
When our government turned from God, they caused the suffering of a lot of innocent people. I trust in God and know I will be rewarded in Heaven, but my five year old grand-daughter does not understand that, and why she can not have what other kids have. The secret service can have a night on the town with a prostitute, but my baby soon won't have a place to live. The American Dream? I don't think so.

What's on your heart and mind today?

I want to say that I am praying for everyone on this web site that their needs are fulfilled. I know it is hard. I got an eviction notice recently myself and have no idea where me and my grand-daughter will go. I know God will send me an answer, but I also know that I have to help myself by asking. Ask and ye shall recieve! Everybody, please know that if you do not get an answer here, there are other places. Churches, Commuity services, etc. I hope everyone gets what they need. Times are really hard right now but do not get depressed. There is help somewhere for us all.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   Your world is the fairy tale. Non-believers want to believe that they can go through life with no retributions and no one to answer to. It makes it easier for them to treat people as you have on this forum. As Bette Midler sand....God is watching us.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   Yes, In the end of times the seasons will become as one. Floods, and famine will reign over the earth. Son will turn against Father. Father will turn against son. It is in the Bible what is happening now. And as far a selfishness goes, Yes, I do expect something in return for my faith. A place in His kingdom. I will meet God some day soon and will not have any knowledge of the ones who were cast into the lake of fire. This is not selfishness. Jesus took three nails and stripes all over His body for our passage to Heaven. He did not sacrifice Himself in vain.

in response to My daughter'sdad...   If it wasn't a miracl...she would not be alive. You are a very ignorant man and I believe that you are respoding as you do out of fear. Do not tell me to "Get over it". I don't have to get over anything. You, on the other hand, need to get over yourself. Why do you believe your way is the only way? Are you that important to yourself to the point you think you have the last say? I will never sway from my belief and I am STILL praying for your soul.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   If you read the Holy Bible, it is full of records of the miracles that Jesus performed. As far as Aids and the Holocaust, God had a reason for everything He did and will do. It is not always good things, but we must accept His will. When we can accept what He does and not question it, we are truly his children. Also, God never left His evidence on this Earth because He has made and ruled this world from His Kingdom. Jesus most certainly did appear after his resurrection. Read your Bible and be Blessed.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   You can not see wind. But it is there. You can not taste hope, but we all know it exist. Have you ever heard of a leap of faith? Sometimes you just have to believe in something. In my case, I believe in God. If you have a personal relationship with Him, he does talk to you. He guides those that ask. He even loves those that do not love Him. I say He exist and is responsible for our existence. Prove that He does not.

in response to My daughter'sdad...   You are very close-minded. You have many post pushing your beliefs on this page, but you are not willing to accept another. I feel sorry for you. I really do not know how this website allows you to rant in this fashion. I thought the rules said not to. I probably will not re-visit this site because I try to stay away from blasphemy. I have fought many battles in the college I am attending in the name of my Lord, but I have no choice there. I did not realize this was an atheists only forum.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   While I respect other peoples opinions, I have to argue your point. God does indeed perform miracles. Not just in the form of hand-outs, but in more important situations. I have seen it. My niece was born with spina bifida so severe she had no chance of living. The doctors just closed the opening over her spine and gave their condolences. There were churches in three states praying for her. She is now 13 years old and in a wheelchair, but otherwise has a full life to look forward to. So, don't tell me there are no miracles and prayers go unanswered. I will pray for you.
